What is Cerakote

A thin ceramic film that outlasts the part

Cerakote is a polymer-ceramic coating sprayed at roughly one thousandth of an inch and oven-cured. It resists abrasion, corrosion, chemicals and impact, and it holds tight tolerances — bores, threads and mating surfaces stay usable.

It goes on steel, aluminum, titanium, polymer and plastics. Matte, satin, gloss, metallics, camo and multi-color layups are all on the table.

What is powder coat

Thicker film, bigger parts, deep color

Powder is charged, sprayed onto a grounded part and baked at 350–400 °F until it flows and cross-links. Color selection is enormous and most colors can be matched.

The trade-offs are physical: 2–4 mils of film is too thick for tight-tolerance work, and the cure temperature can soften heat-treated steel. We'll tell you which process your part wants.

Services

01

Firearms

Full builds, receivers, slides, barrels, suppressors and small parts. Disassembled, media blasted, degreased and masked so controls, pins and threads function exactly as they did. Solid colors, two-tones, stencil patterns and battleworn work.

02

Automotive

Valve covers, intakes, headers, brackets, calipers, wheels and trim. High-temp C-series for exhaust and under-hood parts, standard series for cosmetic pieces. Engine-bay layups in matched colors.

03

Marine & saltwater hardware

Cleats, rod holders, reels, rails, hatches and trailer hardware. Coastal parts live in salt spray, so these get the corrosion-rated series and full coverage on fasteners and edges where rust starts.

04

Powder coating

For larger steel and aluminum parts where film thickness is not critical: frames, racks, bumpers, furniture, guards and gates. Color matching available on most requests.

05

Knives & EDC

Blades, handles, scales, flashlights, tools and carry gear. Edges and pivots masked; the coating stays off working surfaces and out of detents.

06

Bulk & commercial orders

Production runs for manufacturers, shops and dealers. Racked and batched with a documented spec, repeatable color and per-unit pricing. Send a part count and a drawing or sample and we'll quote it.

Process
Step 01

Quote & drop-off

Text photos of the part with the finish you want. We confirm process, color and price before anything is opened up.

Step 02

Teardown & prep

Full disassembly, media blast to profile, solvent degrease and bake-out. Prep is where a coating fails or holds.

Step 03

Spray & cure

Masked, sprayed to spec film thickness, then oven-cured. Multi-color work is layered and re-masked between coats.

Step 04

Reassembly & check

Rebuilt, function-checked and inspected under light before it goes back to you. Photos on request.
